Cross: The Symbol of love

jesus-christ-god-4779548

At the cross of Calvary, Jesus was stripped naked and cut, they spit on Him, He was scorned and shunned. All these was done, and Jesus did not complain, did not come down, did not call the angels for help. Why did He do all these things? He went through all these to show His love for all. At the cross, He destroys sin, He defeated Satan, He delivered the sinner, declared our salvation. All to show us His love for us. Brethren, at the cross of Calvary God showed His love for us

For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commended His love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us

Romans 5: 7-8

.

The Bible says nobody want to die for another person, for a good person, someone can attempt it, but nobody gives his life for another person. God showed He love us while we are still sinners, insulting Him, disobedient, and going against His will, He died for us. The cross is God’s symbol of love for us, men may see it as a symbol of failure and disease but for God, it is a symbol of love.

At the cross of calvary, Jesus died for us while we were still in our sins. Nobody dies for another, but He did when we do not deserve it, when He was supposed to be against us.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

So, while deep in sin, atrocities, iniquities, openly defiant of God, shunning His word, spiting at His command, He sent His son to die for us. What greater love can we have than this?

The cross is the symbol of love for us even though some might see it as foolishness, let us not cast away His love for us. No matter what anybody tells you, He does not hate you, He might hate what you are doing but He does not hate you. Listen up, never ever doubt the love that God have for you, a father might not like what his son/daughter is doing, he might punish them, yet it does not mean he hate them, but he hates what they are doing and his love for them is constant. God loves you.

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but He loved us, and sent His son to be the propitiation for our sins He sent Him to be propitiation for our sins,

1 John 4:10

He showed us love, when we do not deserve it, in our unworthiness he showed us love, when we were against Him, He showed us love. His love is showed in the level of sacrifice and suffering He must go through. Remember they stripped, scorned, spit and shun Him, but His love made Him to stay on the cross for us. We deserve punishment not sacrifice, we deserve correction not love but God showed us love during all these. Why? Because of His grace.

whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

Ephesians 1:7

It is grace that made His love available to us in all His ramifications, Jesus loves us and gave Himself for us.

And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor

Ephesians 5:2

why did Jesus died? Is because He love us and gave Himself for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Christ love us and gave us Himself, Jesus loves us and there is no doubt about it. Jesus borne the consequence of our sins on the cross, he met the just requirement of God by His love, John Piper said He paid the highest price possible to give me the greatest gift. Brethren know surely that God loves you and Jesus loves you
