Preparation First
The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord
Proverbs 21:31
Acquire the skills needed to manage fame, wealth, power, love, platforms, and the crown before you get them. Rather than labor for fame, wealth, power, love, platforms, and the crown, invest in acquiring the skills required to sustain these things first.
The reason why many people lose fame, wealth, power, love, platforms, and the crown easily is because they labor to acquire these things first before they start learning the skills needed to maintain them.
The horse is prepared against the day of battle, not on the day of battle.
You can predict your chances of victory before the day of battle if you have adequately prepared your horse against the day of battle.
Greatness has weight; It can break you if you are not adequately prepared to carry it.
The crown can crush you if you have not prepared your head to carry it.
Have you ever wondered why Rehoboam, King Solomon’s son, would ask for advice just immediately after the death of his father? Rehoboam knew he was going to be the next king after his father, but he waited for the day of battle to prepare his horse.
The consequence of that is the loss of ten tribes of Israel.
If he had been preparing before that day, he would have asked counsel of his father or the kingmakers, weighed the options, and decided on what to do. Even if he was going to rule with an iron hand, he would have set modalities in place to ensure his kingdom was preserved.
Every man rises or falls on the strength of his preparation. A weakling who prepares for the battle is at an advantage than the warrior who wakes up on the battleground.
Like the Roman philosopher would say,
Luck is what happens when preparation meets
opportunity.
How prepared you are will determine whether you will be able to handle the greatness you desire so badly. Read books, attend training, seek counsel, get mentorship, pray, and invest in the throne before the crown comes.
Invest in the throne before the crown comes.
