What do you have
We are in a year where God is emphasizing the need for us to hear Him swiftly and to execute His instructions with undeterred audacity. Leave it to the Holy Spirit to speak through what we call the mundane things of life.
One day, i was thinking of how to put up a structure to an idea that had popped up in my mind, and as I was thinking, I heard, “what do you have?”, and it reminded me of a story in the bible: the wife of one of the sons of the prophet.
The wife of a man from the company of prophets cried out to Elisha, your servant, my husband is dead, and you know he that he revered the Lord, but now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves Elisha replied to her, how can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house? your servant has nothing at all, she said, except a small jar of olive oil
2 Kings 4:1-2 NIV
For now, let us overlook the disturbing thought about the man who associated with prophets, revered God and still got into so much debt, and focus on Elijah’s one-million-dollar question, what do you have in your house? What do you have in your hand? Start from where you are with what you have as you trust God to take you to where He has promised you. Remember, swift hearing and audacious execution. Hear and do.
Digital marketing is very wide, but it is an important tool to have in hand at this interesting time. It is one of the high-income generating skills trending. Why is it so important? Just imagine that almost everyone in the world now live in your mobile phone once you are connected to the internet and you can advertise your service to them at a cost. The digital space is a mission field.
Digital marketing is a part of marketing that uses the internet and other technologies such as your mobile phones, computers, and other platforms to sell, or promote products and services.
Do not think too far, we will stay within the confines of your smart phone and the social media. The amazing part of all these is that your mobile phone is always in your hand, so when the Holy Spirit asks you, what do you have in your hand? Do not say “nothing” first like that woman did before she remembered the little oil, you have a mobile phone, consider it as your little oil.
As a means of marketing, the most engaging platforms that can generate traffic and convert sales, are your Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram account but remember this, you would need to have a listing after some time... all you need is to create and put out great content, please do not copy somebody’s content without acknowledgement.
Do not just watch statuses and story updates, tell a vision, tell a story. I will list few productivity tools that you may be overlooking that can help you in managing your digital space.
Smart Phone Camera: Do not overlook this application, take a picture of that meal, that dress, or that shoe and show your work. Try taking pictures at different angles and flood the place with light or better still, use your natural light, the sun. The mind is powerful bank, and visuals have a way of capturing attention. You cannot be praying for clients and nobody knows what you do, o wrong now.
YouTube: You cannot afford an online course? I present you the YouTube, a platform of learning for all, at a small cost. Just data subscription. Learn how to use ads, stories and statuses to convert sales, you can even make tutorials and post them on your channel. One day, they will pay off.
To-do-list/clock: the digital space clamors for our time, and so time management is important when you tread on this space. Set timers and create schedules. You still need to retreat with the Holy spirit in order to refresh and keep in touch with things happening around you.
Others are Canva, WhatsApp Business, and video makers and so on.
